Welcome to Mersea Island Photographic Society
You do not need to be an expert photographer to be a member of MIPS, all you need is a keen interest in photography.
Through practical demonstrations, competitions, lectures or by just talking to others about photography, the Society's aim is to help it's members learn more about the art: to encourage development of photographic skills and the appreciation of photography. Advice is always on hand, no matter how experienced or unexperienced you are.
With it's membership of the East Anglian Federation, it is affiliated the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain and as a result has access to some of the best judges and lecturers on photography in the country. But above all, the Society is composed of, run by, and run for the benefit of it's members.
We meet alternate Thursdays from 8pm to 10pm at the Mersea Museum, West Mersea, from September through to end of May and enjoy a varied programme of speakers, competitions and workshops. If you are unsure why not come along as a visitor. There will always be a warm welcome
Membership fees for the 2011-2012 season are: £22 Single. £40 double. Visitors £2 per night
